This case study addresses regeneration activities under a 6-year national Grand Projet de Ville project. The area concerned is situated within a former mining region and is characterised by low education rates, high unemployment and a struggling economy. The main visions for this area have been in converting the brownfield sites in Anzin and creating a new centre for Beuvrages, with particular consideration to engaging with the local population and easing the relocation process for residents in the demolition zones.
