>> External experts facilitating futures workshops to engage stakeholders
This case study focuses on the planning and public engagement stages of the regeneration process in Slovakia, where urban regeneration is a relatively new phenomenon and the general public are largely unfamiliar with their role in decision-making activities. The visioning exercises and futures workshops delivered by external experts (from Dublin Institute of Technology) to Rača’s stakeholders are described in detail. The alternatives considered by the stakeholder group are also explained, in order to demonstrate how the plans for regenerating Rača were formulated and how these have begun to be implemented according to the stakeholders’ priorities.
