(DGGS)

DGGS is a department within the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Salzburg. Its major objective is an international and europea co-operation. The Research Group ‘Urban Landscapes’ analyses, develops, moderates and implements projects emphasising on the development of the natural and built environment of urban and suburban areas. The group aims at developing and providing practicable strategies for the model of sustainable development. Practice-oriented research projects demonstrate how urban areas can develop and maintain environmentally, socially and economically viable lifestyles. To achieve this, the research group is co-operating closely with decision-makers at local and regional level as well as with other urban stakeholders.
